The importance of technology globally hit a critical level with the invention and proliferation of cell phones. Innovative solutions to everyday inconveniences in countries with varying levels of development have propelled cell phones to become the device of choice for billions worldwide.According to the International Telecommunications Union, "Total mobile‐cellular subscriptions reached almost 6 billion by end  2011, corresponding to a global penetration of 86%."
