Third-Party Debate Hosted by Larry King

Tonight Larry King will moderate a third-party debate with Gov. Gary Johnson, Dr. Jill Stein, Rocky Anderson, and Virgil Goode. This is the first meeting of all four candidates who could play a significant role in different parts of the country this November. Two candidates, Johnson and Stein, have their name on enough ballots to win the election with 271 electoral votes. Virgil Goode could be a Romney spoiler in his home state of Virginia. Prior to watching the debate tonight brush up on the candidates and what to expect from each party involved.

Gov. Gary Johnson

Governor Gary Johnson is the former Governor of New Mexico. He is the Libertarian Party candidate and is running on a platform of smaller government and balancing the federal budget now.

Dr. Jill Stein

Dr. Stein is a physician and teacher of internal medicine, she is also a recognized expert on the relationship between the environment, the economy, and the body. Dr. Jill Stein is the Green Party candidate and speaks to improving the economy and environment through the Green New Deal.

Rocky Anderson

Rocky Anderson is the former mayor of Salt Lake City, UT. Mr. Anderson is also a highly regarded civil litigator and civil rights attorney. He is the Justice Party candidate and his platform emphasizes the importance of due process, the rule of law, and restricting the War Powers Clause of the Constitution.

Virgil Goode

Virgil Goode is a former Congressman from Virginia who served in Washington from 1997-2009. Prior to joining Congress, Virgil Goode served in the Virginia State Senate from 1973-1997. He is the Constitution Party candidate and discusses sweeping immigration reform, including the reduction of legal immigration.

Expect the candidates to hold a civil dialogue about the issues that is starkly contrasted to the political theater that was displayed last night. Although the candidates differ on multiple issues, they will agree on changing the direction of our country and opening the system to different voices.
