The Occupy Wall Street movement highlighted the disparity of wealth between the rich and the poor in America, with the now famous gap between the 1% and the 99%.

This simplification has been criticized. However, the reality is that in the past 30 years, the percentage of wealth owned by a small percentage of the population has  increase extensively.

This infographic, provided by Forensic Accounting, analyses the evolution of the distribution of wealth and shows that today 1% do really possess most of the wealth in the United States.
