Will Trump be the End of the 'Three Amigos'?
The relationship between the three giants of North America has never been a simple one. From wars and interventions, to visas and work agreements, it is clear that Canada, Mexico, and the United States’ closeness makes them de-facto partners.
In 1994, the relationship hit its highest peak with NAFTA, a trade agreement that looked to build strong economic ties between the neighboring countries. Since then, the “three amigos” have had their ups and downs, but the partnership has remained strong.

Is Donald Trump the Most Powerful President Elect Ever?
Donald Trump is one of, if not the most, active president-elects in recent history. For better or worse, since November 8th Donald Trump has in many ways already assumed the office of President of the United States. It is common for all president-elects to name their cabinet members, do interviews, buy a pet to bring to the white house, etc. in the days leading to Inauguration Day. However, in keeping with his unconventional style, Trump is redefining what it means to be president-elect.

Media Madness: Trump’s Post-Election Promises Under Scrutiny
With Trump’s fresh policy announcements, the mainstream media continues to speculate, and create click-bait for the masses who are eager to read all about the latest decisions from the president-elect.
Wishful thinkers argue he’s reaching out by “softening rhetoric” on building a wall, the alt-right reports he’s betraying his supporters for the same thing. The media analyzes every new policy position as sort some of Machiavellian grand scheme to either shore up the base, or push forward a popul

Let's All Agree On This: Stop Blocking Traffic for Protests!
There's a lot that American voters may be divided over, but there's one issue that hopefully we can all get together on and embrace a nonpartisan, obvious, and sane position. Demonstrators who have been blocking traffic on streets and highways as part of your protests: please stop! Stop the madness now.
The vast majority of the 63 million people who voted for Hillary Clinton in the presidential election have not been out blocking traffic, which is why this is something that we can hopefully all

Modern Polling Died Last Night -- For Good
I'll be the first to admit, as a researcher myself, I'm a fan of statistical methods for explaining and predicting the phenomenon we see in the real world.
But with the lousy polling in 2012, mostly showing a Mitt Romney edge at the end, coupled with the abysmal projections of a Hillary Clinton blowout in the Electoral College in 2016 -- polling is now as useful as voodoo to predict politics.
Why is this?
In 2016, the pollsters measured all the wrong things -- they totally ignored Millennials

Gary Johnson and Jill Stein Showed Us All What a Presidential Debate Should Look Like
This week, third party candidates Gov. Gary Johnson and Dr. Jill Stein took part in a candidate forum that aired on PBS over two nights. There were no interruptions, no personal jabs, and candidates spoke only to the questions and issues. The candidates' podiums stood next to each other. They were given about 90 seconds to answer each question, and both Johnson and Stein appeared committed to a real discussion on real issues.
This is what a presidential debate or forum should look like. Debates

No Joke: 10 Major Ways Hillary Clinton Is Just Like Donald Trump
In a presidential election with record-setting unfavorable ratings for both major parties' nominees, no small number of people will be voting against a candidate instead of for the candidate whose name they check on the ballot.
Many are calling this election the ultimate choice between "the lesser of two evils." In fact, that very phrase was repeated over and over again when CNN went on a tour through two major swing states, Ohio and Florida, to talk to voters about their concerns and motivatio

Independent, Third Party Candidates: Vote Your Conscience; Stick With Us
Why stick with third party and independent candidates in November, if Clinton and Trump have a combined 80% of the electorate in all major polls? In an election season that is anything but usual, one trend is holding up: outside campaigns are losing support in the last months of the race.
The campaigns of Libertarian candidate Gov. Gary Johnson, Green Party candidate Dr. Jill Stein, independent candidate Dr. Lynn S. Kahn, and Veterans Party candidate Chris Keniston responded to a short question

Nate Silver Confirms: Johnson Could Still Upset the Election
A vote for Governor Gary Johnson has been described by both sides as a wasted vote, a protest vote, and a vote that will elect the candidate you fear the most. This oversimplification of our political process ignores the importance and reality of how the Electoral College actually works, and how a win for Gary Johnson even in a single state could upend the entire election.
One recent post-debate poll puts this reality into context. As reported by Nate Silver for FiveThirtyEight, in New Mexico,

Schwarzenegger: U.S. Politics Needs an Open Conversation, Not a Closed One
Former California Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger announced Friday that he supports Governors Gary Johnson and Bill Weld appearing in the presidential debates for the same reason he supported nonpartisan elections in California: he believes we need an open political system, not a closed one.
Gov. Schwarzenegger was a major supporter of Proposition 14 in California, which reformed the semi-closed partisan primary system for statewide and federal elections to an open, nonpartisan system. He also s
