Latinos are Confident in Voter ID Laws, Reports Suggest

According to the Pew Hispanic Center, 97% of Latinos are confident in voter ID laws. Georgia, Indiana, Kansas, and Tennessee will have a “strict photo ID” requirement this election cycle. Florida, Hawaii, Idaho, Louisiana, Michigan, New Hampshire, and South Dakota have each stipulated provisions if a voter is unable to present a photo ID. Jobless Claims Rise in Wake of Poor August Figures
Initial claims for unemployment benefits soared last week in the wake of disappointing job gains in August. The U.S. Department of Labor's Employment and Training Agency reported an increase of 15,000 applications to a seasonably adjusted figure of 382,000 for the week ending September 8.

Arizona Supreme Court Upholds ‘Top 2’ Initiative
The Arizona Supreme Court ruled in favor of an open primary initiative on Thursday, which was the final obstacle advocates needed to overcome to see Proposition 121 on the statewide general election ballot. Voters now have an opportunity to decide what kind of electoral system they want in Arizona.
