The vote to reopen the government and pass a temporary budget deal has shaped up to be possibly the most divisive vote of 2013. H.R. 2775, also called the Continuing Appropriations Act of 2014 funds the government until January 15, 2014, and was passed October 17. The Senate voted 81 to 18 to fund the government and avert a potential default, whereas the House voted 285 to 144.

Isn't It Weird That Congress Feels No Urgency to Re-Open the Government?
The U.S. has entered Day 22 of the latest government shutdown with no end in sight. As pundits expect it to surpass the 35-day record set during Trump’s first term, a new Gallup poll shows voters’ approval of Congress has plummeted in the last month. Yet, for congressional leaders, there isn’t any urgency to re-open the government.
