Oops! Fiorina Strikes Out On Bankruptcy Answer

Maybe Carly Fiorina should spend less   time counting sheep and more time boning up on Government 101.

When asked whether California should turn   to bankruptcy to deal with its budget problems, the former Hewlett Packard exec   replied, "I think it should always be   considered. Whether that is the right approach now, I don't know. I think   bankruptcy, as a possibility, at the very least focuses the mind on what has to   be done to salvage a situation."

Problem? States can’t seek bankruptcy protection.   Oops. Maybe the Devil made her do it.

The gaffe is particularly embarrassing coming on the   heels of her “demon sheep” internet ad attacking her Republican opponent Tom   Campbell.

Fiorina seems to be following the pattern of so   many well-heeled CEO- turned-politicos who know little or nothing about   government and end up getting their pockets picked by savvy political   consultants.

Campbell is a bad match for Fiorina because, wolf   or sheep, no one questions his depth. He is a Stanford Law professor who has   served in both Congress and the State Legislature with a squeaky clean   reputation intact.

No doubt, her sheephandlers will do everything they   can to keep her out of a one an one with the quick witted Campbell.

But, by attacking Campbell so early, Fiorina left   herself open to the counterpunch. Now, by opening her mouth on a subject she   clearly knows nothing about, she has set up the obvious comparison:

Sheep’s clothing? Or The Empty Suit?
