California Legislature Approves Election Day Registration
On Thursday, the California State Senate passed a bill to allow Election Day Registration (EDR), which will allow citizens to register to vote up to and on the day of an election. However, if the bill does become law, which is likely, it will not take effect until 2016. The passage of EDR by the California legislatur

Texas Judge Claims Obama Will Incite 'Civil War'
Are you ready for civil war? Tom Head, a judge in Lubbock County, Texas, says that is what Americans should expect if President Barack Obama is reelected. “One of the things is he’s going to try to give the sovereignty of the United States away to the United Nations. What do you think the public is going to do when that happens? We are talking civil unrest, civil disobedience, possibly, possibly civil war, OK?” Judge Head remarked in an interview with FOX  34 in Lubbock. Tom Head is not only a

Trust in Cable News Networks Continues to Decline
Credit: McClatchy-Marist Poll Extreme partisanship among the big cable news networks has done its fair share in shaping the American political landscape. These days, a person’s preference in cable news networks can be a decent indicator of the party they affiliate with. However, trust in these networks has significantly dropped over the past few years. Findings from a new Pew Research Poll indicate that positive believability ratings have fallen drastically among nine out of 13 news organizati

Voter ID Ruling Outsmarts the Law, For Now
Credit: csmonitor.com Across the media, the headlines got it wrong when they claimed “Judge Upholds Voter ID Law in Pennsylvania,” or some variation of that assertion. Even though it took Commonwealth Court Judge Robert Simpson some 70 pages to explain his decision, the decision did not “uphold” the law.
