Source: Jonathan Lippincott
The president's Commission on Election Administration held their final public hearing on September 20 in Cincinnati, Ohio, where five independents from Ohio and Kentucky petitioned the commission for a redress of grievances regarding election issues that independents face across the country.
With 40 percent of the electorate registered as independent, it's not a stretch to say that independents are the largest group of suppressed voters in the country. But, whether

Throwing Sticks and Stones at the IRS
Both independent and partisan observers have long described the United States as an ox or a mule that refuses to turn or move on the inclinations of an unpredictable caretaker. Symbolically, of course, we the people are the unpredictable and often unstable caretakers of our own nation.
Mules are not resistant to movement because they lack intelligence or because they cannot pick up their legs and walk. They simply hate being forced to move against their will, especially with a guide that seems

Nonprofit Organizations Significantly Increase Voter Turnout
Nonprofit VOTE examined the impact of nonprofit organizations on voter behavior within seven states in an August 2013 study. It found that those contacted by a nonprofit organization -- in regards to the election -- turned out at 74 percent while 68 percent of all registered voters turned out.

When The Free Market Fails to Serve Customers
Credit: cpsc.gov
I have a lot of libertarian friends, including some of the extreme variety who believe that government should not even be providing things like police, fire, roads, and sewers. Because, in their view the competition of the free market could provide such services better, more cheaply, and without the coercion and corruption that often comes with government.
At that point, I have to tell them the story of Marcus Crassus.
