Gabbard told a group of voters and reporters Sunday, “I’m seriously thinking of how I can best be of service to our country."
But Gabbard added she didn’t have any timetable for deciding on a White House run.

10 Facts About Donald Trump You Didn't Know
1. 2016 Wasn't The First Time Donald Trump Ran for President
In 2012, Donald Trump made a brief appearance in the Republican primary, dipping his toe into the water, so to speak, and getting an idea for what it would be like to run. He formed an exploratory committee and even polled in second place behind Mitt Romney very early on in 2011 before bowing out, probably because he knew better than to try to run against Barack Obama's re-election campaign.

Loyalty Oaths and Party Primaries: Why It's Time to Abandon Party-Centric Elections
In New Hampshire’s 1st district race for U.S. Congress, the Republicans recently had a little brouhaha over a loyalty oath. Candidate Eddie Edwards was not allowed to participate in the GOP debate because he refused to sign a pledge to support the Republican nominee at all costs, no matter who it was.
Edwards says that for him, it’s a matter of honesty and integrity, and that when it comes to supporting his fellow party candidate Andy Sanborn, “What separates us is much more serious than policy

When Voter Registration Becomes A Barrier to Voting
Earlier this year, Utah and Washington quietly joined 14 other states that have eliminated the use of registration deadlines as a final cutoff to be able to vote. The congruent actions of a red state and blue state bring the number of states that allow voters to register or update a registration when they go to vote to nearly one in three.
It’s a critical threshold that could spell the end of voter registration deadlines as we’ve known them for 100 years.
Enabling voters to address and fix reg

Voter Suppression: How Politicians Are At War With Your Vote

An Insult to Voters: The Legislatures in Maine and Utah are Out of Line
As independent voters, we’re all about ensuring that power resides with “the people,” but what does that mean? Can “the people” have too much power in a representative, constitutional democracy?
Recent developments in Maine and Utah this week (discussed below) have me thinking about this.
I’m also asking this question because here in New Hampshire, as in many other states, voters don’t have the right to adopt or repeal laws by initiative or referendum. When it comes to enacting the types of

Politics for the People: A Book Club for the Curious Independent
Book clubs have been a part of American life since 1634 when Anne Hutchinson started a “literary circle” for women as they crossed the Atlantic en route to the colonies. In 1840, Margaret Fuller founded the first book club sponsored by a book store, and by the mid 1800’s book clubs began to spread across the Midwest.
Today, estimates are that 5 million Americans participate in book clubs.
In 2011, I established the Politics for the People (P4P) Book Club for independents. The book club was an
