50 Reasons to Bail Out of the Two-Party System and Become an Independent Voter
1. The two-party system came into existence at a time when people were still writing on paper with feathers dipped in ink.
2. And partisanship is as antiquated as that practice because we have better ways of accomplishing the same purpose.
3. Parties were invented because it was impossible in the late 1700s to have all the facts about a candidate for public office, so people relied on their party for direction about who to vote for.
4. We no longer need parties for this purpose in the age of

Signature Required: SD County on Verge of Big Election Reform
The effort to reform County of San Diego elections and align them with the City of San Diego and the State of California is underway.
The Full Voter Participation Act has been crafted to mirror Measure K, an initiative drafted by the Independent Voter Project in 2016 to end an “election law loophole” whereby candidates can win an election in the primary instead of the general election. City of San Diego voters passed Measure K with nearly 60% of the vote last year.
Now, proponents of the Full

Time Is Right to Elect An Independent Governor in Connecticut
Just before Thanksgiving, I received a call out of the blue from a friend of Oz Griebel, a well-known and very respected business leader in Connecticut, and a Republican. He began by telling me that Mr. Griebel is exploring a run for governor, and that I was on his short list.
“Short list for what,” I asked. “You know I am a Democrat, right? And, I believe strongly in gun violence prevention, social justice reform, and protecting our most vulnerable” among other issues.
He responded: “Yes. Tha

10 Sites You Need to Follow to Escape "Fake News" in 2018
Today, it feels nearly impossible to discern who is telling the truth and who is, as the president is so fond of screaming, “fake news.”
My right-leaning father and I are consistently battling each other with conflicting facts from our niche news sources. For example, his conservative news bubble is telling him that Trump’s approval rating is high, while my liberal echo chamber tells me the opposite.

As a result of the continued toxic political environment, millions of Americans are not only dissatisfied with the two-party duopoly, but want more choices in elections and are looking to political leaders who are willing to put voters and country before their party, and challenge partisan group think when it doesn't align with their principles.

Now More Than Ever, We Need A Revolution of Unity
Whatever your views on the tax bill, Roy Moore vs. Doug Jones or the Trump presidency, the last few weeks should trouble you if you love our country.
Partisan pundits from each of the two warring factions have declared victory or stunning, breathless defeat, depending on the outcome for their team. These three recent flash points demonstrate for me yet again the dangerous and unhealthy times we are in.
Each of these represents clearly the deep divides that drive our politics right now. It worr
