Alabama Election Results
It's going to be about another month before we know who will represent the GOP in the Alabama Senate race to go head-to-head with Democrat Doug Jones.
The race is for Attorney General Jeff Sessions' former US Senate seat.
Two Republicans advanced to a runoff on September 26. Roy Moore, a former state Supreme Court Justice and Senator Luther Strange, who is serving as Sessions' replacement, will square off.
Moore received 39.8% of the vote compared with Strange, who r

Election Hacking: Solutions Needed, Not Partisan Blame Games
"It took me only a few minutes to see how to hack it."
We have known for some time that state voting machines are incredibly vulnerable to cyberattack. Is this breaking news? No. White hat hackers (ethical hackers) in recent history have demonstrated time and time again just how easy it is to hack into the machines.
So what is being done about it?
At the nation's largest cybersecurity conference over the weekend, DEF CON, attendees were invited to hack a number of voting machines used across

A Lot of Money Was Spent in GA 6 Just to Lose an Election
It's hard to believe that special election spending in an odd-year would break so many records, but it did.
It was reported ahead of Tuesday that the special election in Georgia's sixth congressional district would be the most expensive House race in history. In fact, it eviscerated that record back in May. What is just as incredible is how much candidates and special interest groups spent per vote: over $200, according to OpenSecrets.org.

Republican Handel Takes Georgia's Sixth Congressional District
More than $50 million was spent on Georgia's Sixth Congressional District special election.
For Democrats, a win would have been a sign that the Trump resistance is translating into tangible electoral gains.
For Republicans, it is a sign that despite the harsh media rhetoric towards the President and their party, they continue to win congressional seats.
The timing of Karen Handel's win could also impact the national conversation over health care, as Senate Republicans are about to roll out t

Sadly, The Only Winner in Georgia's Special Election Is Hyper-Partisanship
There is one message that voters are getting in Georgia's 6th Congressional District (and elections across the country): Be angry.
Reports ahead of Tuesday's election show a 150 percent increase in early voter turnout. That is impressive, but many are attributing this turnout to people coming out in anger. It is anger at Donald Trump or anger at outside Democrats trying to influence the election.
Either way, this election has been about tapping into people's fury and even exacerbating it.

The Story of a Broken System from Inside the Georgia 6th Congressional District Special Election
In November 2016, Tom Price, my congressman, was nominated to be Secretary of Health and Human Services for the Trump administration. I was still working hard in my natural gas vehicle conversion business, but I felt that an opportunity to have my voice heard was something I just couldn’t pass up.
So I worked feverishly to shut down my business and invest my hard-earned money into a congressional run. I was just a 33-year-old kid from Alabama with no name ID, no financial backers, and no politi
