# Rejoice Congress! Voters Dislike Political Media More Than You

A new [Daily Kos/SEIU poll](http://www.dailykos.com/story/2012/07/31/1115407/-Daily-Kos-SEIU-State-of-the-Nation-poll-Everyone-agrees-the-political-media-sucks?ref=ivn.us) found one thing American voters apparently dislike more than Congress...the political media.

For context, polls averaged by [Real Clear Politics](http://www.realclearpolitics.com/epolls/other/congressional%5Fjob%5Fapproval-903.html?ref=ivn.us) put congressional approval at just over 17%, with 76% disapproval. When President Nixon announced his resignation 38 years ago today, on August 8th, 1974, he had an [approval rating](http://www.gallup.com/poll/116677/presidential-approval-ratings-gallup-historical-statistics-trends.aspx?ref=ivn.us) of 24%.

Members of Congress can rest a little easier during their 5-week recess knowing that somewhere in American society, there exists a group more disliked than themselves.
