The Labor Day weekend is the traditional kickoff of the final sprint to the election in November.

Summer vacations are over.

Kids are back in school.

Parents return to work.

And voters begin to focus on the issues and choices at hand.

**What’s the economy like right now?**

**Paula St. Germaine: You drop a hundred bucks every time you go to the store. I’m done. I don’t go anywhere. I don’t anything for fun. I don’t do anything. We just sit home.**

**Dawna Sargent: I tend to lean Republican.**

**Is it likely you’d vote for the senator again this time?**

**Dawna Sargent: It depends on what my options are.**

I met Dawna Sargent and Paula St. Germain during a mid-week visit to the Windsor Fair.

Early voting in Maine begins in less than a month.
