# Iceland Gets 99.5% of Power From Geothermal, Hydro

Virtually all of Iceland's power comes from [geothermal and hydroelectric power](http://inhabitat.com/iceland-gets-99-5-of-its-energy-from-renewable-sources-but-how-clean-is-it/?ref=ivn.us). Both are clean sources of renewable energy. The UK wants to import some of that power.

The [US has abundant geothermal resources,](http://www.hydrogenfuelnews.com/geothermal-energy-may-be-promising-for-the-u-s/855383/?ref=ivn.us) we just need to harness them.
