# 8 Reforms to Fix Politics in the United States

In recent weeks, there have been three electoral reform stories in the U.S. – the stories of [Lawrence Lessig](http://www.crowdfundinsider.com/2015/03/64417-mayday-pac-resurfaces-at-sxsw-as-lawrence-lessig-reveals-next-steps/?ref=ivn.us) (get corporate money out of politics), [Peter Ackerman](http://www.washingtonpost.com/politics/new-group-calls-for-changes-in-presidential-debate-rules/2015/03/17/5816053c-ccb1-11e4-8c54-ffb5ba6f2f69%5Fstory.html?ref=ivn.us) (expand presidential debates beyond the two parties that monopolize power), and [California](http://www.politico.com/story/2015/03/californias-redistricting-success-in-jeopardy-115624.html?ref=ivn.us) (voter-drawn districts that end gerrymandering).

Below is a graphic that highlights 8 parts to electoral reform. Our task is to nurture a public conversation about all eight – together – and now, in 2015\. An Electoral Reform Act of 2015 is possible, in time to allow for the election of an honest government in 2016.
