Amos Cooper commented on the post, Attacking Planned Parenthood is a Cheap Shot at Women, on the site Independent Voter Network 9 months, 3 weeks ago

Why do people attack Planned Parenthood so much? I know a lot of opponents are pro-choice, but abortions only count as about 3% of the services that Planned Parenthood offers.

Amos Cooper commented on the post, Competition in the Age of Frenemies, on the site Independent Voter Network 9 months, 3 weeks ago

Let’s hope that we can learn from our mistakes in the past. One big difference between 1914 and now is that we have the UN to potentially keep peace and deal with conflict diplomatically.

Amos Cooper commented on the post, Anti-Occupy Law: Freedom of Speech, Just Watch What You Say, on the site Independent Voter Network 9 months, 3 weeks ago

It’s sad to see our rights being restricted like this. Would there have been a different sort of response if say Occupy was instead some sort of movement headed by the Tea Party?

Amos Cooper commented on the post, Social Spotlight: Mayor Cory Booker, on the site The Social Ballot 9 months, 3 weeks ago

It seems like social media is a hugely convenient way for politicians to communicate with their constituents. It’s good to see Booker taking full advantage of twitter. It definitely helps us connect with other […]

Amos Cooper commented on the post, Non-partisan Push to Simplify Pennsylvania’s Voter ID Law, on the site Independent Voter Network 9 months, 3 weeks ago

Why can’t we have a system where everyone is issued a photo ID at age 18?

Amos Cooper commented on the post, The Olympics: A Glimpse into North Korea, on the site Independent Voter Network 9 months, 3 weeks ago

The cult of personality surrounding Kim Jong Il and the other members of his family is extremely bizarre. Apparently the people in North Korea believe Kim Jong Il invented the hamburger.

Amos Cooper commented on the post, Federally Funded Bike Sharing Programs Expand, on the site Independent Voter Network 9 months, 3 weeks ago

Bikes are a great means for transportation. It would be neat to see this expand nationwide. It would definitely help the environment and save people money on gas.

On March 3, 1875 Congress laid out the requirements for the Territory of Colorado to gain its statehood. A little over a year later, then President Ulysses S. Grant signed the proclamation giving Colorado its […]

Amos Cooper commented on the post, Do You Vote for the Lesser Evil?, on the site Independent Voter Network 9 months, 3 weeks ago

It’s sad that the two party system severely limits our choice for president. This is especially evident this election considering Obama and Romney have been shown to be similar in their political views. There was […]

Amos Cooper commented on the post, Banning Chick-fil-A Would Set Dangerous Precedent, on the site Independent Voter Network 9 months, 3 weeks ago

While I don’t support their message Chick-Fil-A still has the right to express what they believe. If it’s such a huge problem people should just boycott the restaurant.

Amos Cooper commented on the post, Medical Marijuana Shops Banned By Los Angeles City Council, on the site Independent Voter Network 9 months, 3 weeks ago

While marijuana is decriminalized in some places, it’s still illegal on the federal level. The whole thing is a huge mess. I know it’s been said here plenty of times but it seems like the best solution is to just legalize it.

Amos Cooper commented on the post, Op-Ed: Gun Control Laws Don’t Work, on the site Independent Voter Network 9 months, 3 weeks ago

When people buy guns there should be a greater emphasis on assessing the customers mental health. I really don’t think banning guns in the US would work. Guns are just too ingrained into our culture.

Amos Cooper commented on the post, Election Update: Twitter Bomb, Negativity, and Super PAC Spending, on the site Independent Voter Network 10 months ago
