The “Political Mammal” Blog is founded by Loretta Breuning, who has been writing books about the mammalian brain since retiring from a career as Professor of International Management at California State University, East Bay. She has a blog on Psychology Today called “Your Neurochemical Self.”

As an expert in ‘brain science,’ Loretta challenges the ideological conformities that live on the intersections of politics and science.

Loretta has been an independent voter since the mid-90s. She became a Democrat in the 70′s when her high school teacher brought in speakers who told her that “all kids register as Democrats.”
