Arguably the two biggest reform movements in the country, same-sex marriage legalization and Cannabis legalization, are so because they have something in common. Right now, an overwhelming majority of states ban both, but efforts to expand marriage rights and legalize marijuana nationwide are growing as societal attitudes gradually shift.

Over the last decade, the growing percentage of Americans who accept same-sex marriage and marijuana legalization has nearly ran parallel, but there is still clear division in the United States. The following infographic, published by The Pew Charitable Trusts, illustrates how the states are divided on gay marriage and marijuana legislation, and where the potential for additional reform may be possible.
