President Barack Obama has received plenty of media attention for his recent cabinet appointments. Lately, however, the attention has focused on the criticism that his appointments are not diverse.
Senator John Kerry (D-MA) was appointed to replace Hillary Clinton as Secretary of State after UN Ambassador Susan Rice withdrew her name from consideration. President Obama appointed Chuck Hagel, a Republican from Nebraska, to be the next Secretary of Defense. On the same day he announced Hagel’s appointment, Obama also appointed national security specialist, John Brennan, to head up the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA).
On Thursday, President Obama announced the appointment of Jack Lew to be the next Treasury Secretary, another important cabinet position. Outspoken critics of the president’s appointments have focused on the fact that all four appointees are white males. Political analysts have been quick to point out, specifically, the lack of women being appointed to top positions.
Here is a look at women appointed to presidential cabinet positions in modern U.S. history.

The problem is this: in the 21ST CENTURY we have 53% of the US populaton being comprised of women but 17% representation in Congress and 36% representation in the Cabinet. Also, NONE of the IMPORTANT, policy-making positions are held by women. We NEED a female perspective in issues of defense, natinal security, intelligence, and ESPECIALLY finance. When’s the last time you saw a woman member of the Joint Chiefs? There has never been a woman in charge of the Federal Reserve or Secretary of the Treasury. Why not? Surely, there are women whom are more than qualified, right? It’s time to consider “why” when only old, white men are being considered for these psitions. (Save for Secretary of State. We know what happened there: a Republican power play for a Senate seat in Massachusetts.)

I’m not to sure what you’re asking. It appears Democrats have utilized (used would be politically incorrect) women in elections more than Republicans, Obama included. And we’ll never know if Susan Rice was the real Benghazi Bandit calling those shots that cost us an Ambassador to upgrade her career. IMO, you should be asking if a woman’s agenda supersedes that of our nation. Don’t look at me as a chauvinist, but it seems women in politics have an agenda to be seen.
Besides Rice, Sottomayer is in the middle of State Mandated Abortion. How can the Government order aemployeror to pay for the abortion of his employee’s term fetus? The Liberal agenda uses the Constitution to vilify our Rights and for women to carry it out. Is it a question or a statement?

Ok, as a guy, I’ve heard this arguement ALL MY LIFE !!!!! and frankly I’m SICK OF IT !!! First of all, WOMEN outnumber men in the United States by nearly 6 (SIX) million…. Secondly, WOMEN got the right to VOTE in 1919……..Thirdly, WOMEN have EQUAL access to education in this country AND more WOMEN are graduating from COLLEGE than men…… Fourth, WOMEN are the ones who drive the trends in the United States……… So, finally if WOMEN wanted to have more FEMALE representation in goverment, then guess what ??????? WOMEN need to STOP complaining and making EXCUSES and SUPPORT FEMALE CANDIDATES FOR: CITY COUNCIL, MAYOR, STATE SENATOR/REPRESENTATIVE, GOVERNOR, U.S. SENATOR/REPRESENTATIVE AND MOST OF ALL…………………………..PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES !!!!!!!!!
