I’m not sure what “legitimate rape” is supposed to mean, as opposed to what, “illegitimate rape?” There are certainly accusations of rape where the accused, such as the Duke lacrosse team and pro basketball player Kobe Bryant, are eventually exonerated. Or what director Roman Polanski committed, but which comedienne Whoopi Goldberg infamously denied was “‘Rape’ Rape.”
Akin seems better than most Republicans in Washington in that he had the bravery to vote against his party on major domestic issues.
