Nevada is every bit the rugged, individualistic, pioneering, enterprising state with an independent streak that it was in the days of the Wild West, with both positive and negative results. Easy divorce laws, legal prostitution, and legalized gambling have made gaming and tourism Nevada’s biggest industry today. With no personal or corporate income tax, Nevada is also one of the tax-friendliest states in the nation. While libertarian-leaning on many “vice” issues, Nevada is actually one of the toughest states on marijuana and drug policy, though its alcohol laws are among the most lax. .
